AMS News 9th April 2008.
Hello everyone – time for an update on all that is happening
down at AMS.
As I write this we are well into spring and all the signs are
here. Beautiful clear blue skies in Cornwall closely followed by – blizzards!
I have my own opinions about global warming and what is causing it (it is
interesting that the surface temperature on Mars has increased by the same
amount as the surface temperature on earth over the last few years – obviously
all of the exhaust emissions from those alien SUV’s and sportscars!) but one
thing is for sure, we are having some strange weather.
Still, snow + Murtaya = Great fun!
Four wheel drive and four wheels drifting!
Detling Show
Well the traditional season opener is almost upon us. We are
making the trip over to Kent on Friday ahead of this weekends show. We are
taking the Murtaya rally car and the Fireblade powered Toniq R along with 6
members of the AMS team. I hope that we will see lots of you there. We are
also competing in an endurance kart race at Buckmore Park on the Saturday
evening; this should be great fun with teams entered from manufacturers,
owners clubs and magazines. Spectators are welcome at the venue so why not
head over after a day wandering around the show.
New Premises
As the business continues to grow we have a need to beyond
the 5000sq ft which we currently occupy. To that end we are just about to take
an additional 2500sq ft brand new industrial unit about four miles from the
current workshop.
The new unit is just off of the main A30 dual carriageway
which makes access very easy and we will of course be continuing to offer our
collect and drop off service to Newquay airport for those who prefer to fly
down for a visit.
There will be more news on the premises and pictures in next
month’s newsletter.
Donor Vehicles & Parts
We have been working away at building up our sources for
quality parts and donor vehicles and I am delighted to say that we are now
going to be working very closely with Scoobybits, an established and very well
respected importer and parts specialist for the Impreza and Legacy. Jason (the
man behind the company) is going to be opening a second Scoobybits outlet
onsite with us in Cornwall as part of this link up so whatever your needs from
a wheel nut to a complete car we are now better placed than ever to provide
you with a complete service.

Racing Series Approves Murtaya
The All Nippon Challenge is a series designed around anything
Japanese based and championship organiser Steve has approved the Murtaya to
compete. With double race rounds at all of the country’s premier circuits this
exciting series provides the ideal place to make a racing debut for a novice
with lots of track time and a wide variety of machinery.
We are planning on having a Murtaya class running within the series in 2009
and have created a base package for the control cars including sealed 400bhp
engine and 6 speed gearboxes. Make no mistake these cars will provide
explosive performance and exciting sport for the drivers and spectators alike.

Magazine Coverage
The Murtaya is to be featured in EVO magazine very shortly.
We have been invited to compete in their Road and Track Car of the Year
contest and face very stiff opposition from the mainstream manufacturers. We
are the only kit manufacturer invited and will be up against Lotus, Ferrari,
Porsche etc so it will certainly be very interesting.
The road and track testing is taking place at the end of April/early May so
keep an eye out on the magazine in June/July to see how we fare in this
harshest of tests.
Le Mans 2008
We are once again organising the annual jaunt to Le Mans
leaving on Thursday 12th June and returning on Monday 16th. There are already
quite a few cars lined up to come with us and there is an open invite to join
our merry clan whatever you happen to be driving. We will be taking a Murtaya
and Toniq R demo car plus the transit loaded up with essential Le Mans
equipment such as marquee, bar complete with on tap lager and beer, chairs,
tables, sound system and lighting. As the time is now rapidly approaching
please contact Neil Gould should you wish to join us on 01637 889351 or
enquiries@adrenalinemotorsport.co.uk
The more the merrier, and after several years of shocking weather surely we
are due a hot and sunny one this time around!
Odds and Sods
More interesting things in the workshop this month include, a
Mark 2 Escort rally car, a Pug 106 rally car, Marlin 5EXI, Strathcarron (which
we are transplanting an Impreza engine into) and a Porsche to be converted
into a track day weapon. Never a dull moment!
