February 29th, 2008

AMS News Friday 29th February 2008.

Hello again and welcome to more AMS news from Cornwall.

I just had to take the opportunity to write a newsletter on the 29th of February!

I am sure I will do the same again in another 4 years time.

It has been an incredibly busy few months for us here at Adrenaline, first we had the London Motorsport Show just before Christmas, closely followed by Autosport International in January. Then in February we have put on the demonstration day at Llandow circuit in South Wales – all the while manufacturing Murtaya kits for customers all around the world and creating some beautiful factory built vehicles.

We have also conducted the first shake down testing of the Murtaya rally car with the initial test being carried out at a local airfield followed by two days of running at Llandow to coincide with the demonstration day.

David Richards from Prodrive spent some time looking at the Murtaya with the AMS team at Autosport International in January.
He was impressed with what he saw and is going to visit the factory in Cornwall soon!

New Team Member
We have a new person on board here at AMS. Neil Gould has joined the fray in February and will be focusing on the operational side of the company and is likely to be the cheery voice on the end of the phone when you ring in.

Neil has an extensive background in motorsport and competes on a regular basis in many disciplines having previously been a very successful navigator at national level (2004 National Champions!) sat alongside Mike Tregonning in a Darrian T90GTR with a 2.5 Millington Diamond power plant. Neil has built and prepared too many cars to mention and brings a wealth of experience with him, the two most recent projects being a Pilbeam single seater and a 720bhp Ultima GTR.

I am sure you will all join me in welcoming Neil to AMS at a very exciting time.

National Rally Programme
We are absolutely delighted to have put together a deal with Steve Simpson of Steve Simpson Motorsport (creator of the SIMTEK ECU’s which we use in the Murtaya road and competition vehicles) to build a Murtaya rally car which he will use in the 2008 National Tarmac Rally Championship.

Due to the fact that the deal has been struck at quite a late stage Steve will miss the first two rounds of the seven round series so the first competitive outing with be the sensational closed public road event the Jim Clark National Rally which based around the town of Duns in the Scottish Borders – the home town of the racing legend from which the rally takes its name.

The Murtaya is a car which has immense potential as a rally machine and Steve’s car will be packed with high quality components and is being assembled by the guys at TEG Sport who have built World and British Rally Championship winning machinery.

I’ll keep you all posted on the progress of this hugely exciting venture throughout the year.

Factory Built Murtaya’s
We are now in full swing with building the factory finished Murtaya’s with the first car away at the paint shop presently. This first car is heading out to Seattle, followed closely by a car for Switzerland, a road car going to Devon and then a very special track day/occasional road car heading ‘oop north’.

It seems that we are getting an ever increasing demand for factory built cars, mainly for road and track day use. Competition cars are also growing in popularity as the Motor Sports Association accept the Murtaya into ever more types of racing, rallying, hill climb and sprint categories.

I’ll include some pictures of factory built cars as we complete them and hand them over to their happy new owners.

Poster Girl
The Murtaya has been selected by two major international companies to head up their advertising campaigns in 2008.

We are proud to be working with both Millers Oils and Goodridge on the specifications of highest quality components for the Murtaya and in turn both companies are so impressed with what they have seen that they will be using the road and rally cars in their press and publicity for the coming year so keep an eye out for the car in a huge number of magazine adverts, leaflets and posters.

Clothing
We have a range of Murtaya branded clothing available to purchase including T-shirts, polo shirts, sweatshirts and beanie hats.
All of the garments are high quality with nicely embroidered logos.

    Please enquire for further details.

Magazines and Papers
The Murtaya and Toniq R continue to grab attention and headlines all around the world. The latest publication is the Norwegian Finansavisen MOTOR, a full colour motoring supplement for one of the major daily Norwegian broadsheets. They have already published a two page spread on our presence at Autosport International and will be printing full road test reviews on both the Murtaya and Toniq R in coming weeks.

EVO magazine are also scheduled to complete a full road test of the Murtaya and side bar stories on the Toniq R for publication in the spring. This will be very exciting for us as the competition is with major manufacturer sports car offerings and it will be very interesting to see the conclusions that their highly respected journalists reach.

I am quietly confident that they will be smiling when they get out of the car!

Murtaya Kits
We have a real race on to see who will complete the build of their kit Murtaya first. We have a great effort being made by several customers as they race towards the end of the assembly, will it be Bruce Kennedy, Dan Reynold, Jay Esterer in Canada or Les Summerfield in New Zealand that crosses the line first? I’ll let you know! Combined with the factory built cars which are almost complete we will soon be seeing many Murtaya’s hitting the road in the spring.

That’s it for now folks - all the best until next time.

Neil.
